If you are looking for a book featuring the treasured Lovey, this is a great place to start! This list is by no means all encompassing, but the books featured here have been tested and approved by all the Loveys’ children in my home.
1. Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale – by Mo Willems
This may be my children’s favorite story – mostly because we are quite the Mo Willems obsessed householdBut they can totally relate! When we went camping this summer and made trips to the laundromat, they looked around to see if they could find Knuffle Bunny in a washer (we didn’t). Our loveys regularly get “baths” – so they’re no stranger to getting clean.
You really can’t go wrong with the other books in the Knuffle Bunny Trilogy.
3.Blanket & Bear, A Remarkable Pair – by L.J.R. Kelly (Author) and Yoko Tanaka (Illustrator)
I loved the illustrations and rhyming in this book, but I was a little sentimental as I was reading it. The moral of the story is: Kids grow up, and don’t always need their bears and blankies. I think this is more a story for Moms and Dads than kids. Sniff Sniff!
4.Blankie – by Leslie Patricelli
I love Leslie Patricelli! Even though its geared toward the younger crowd (especially in the board book format) my crew keeps coming back to this one again and again. It is a quick easy read and drives home the importance of blankie right to the core. Loves Blankie more than birthday cake!? YOU BETCHA!
5. Where is Elmo’s Blanket? – by Nancy Stevenson
My kids have long outgrown the Elmo phase, but when they were younger they loved to read and lift the eleventy billion flaps (or 30 – close enough) and help Elmo locate his missing blanket. Spoiler alert – He finds it!
